SumDU participated in the largest higher education exhibition in Tanzania

From July 26th to August 2nd Sumy State University participated in the largest exhibition of higher education, science, and technologies of Tanzania annually organized by the Commission for Universities of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technologies.

At this 16th exhibition, Sumy State University was presented by the Director of the Medical Institute Andrii LOBODA and the Deputy Director of the Academic and Research Institute of Business, Economics and Management Tetyana Mayboroda.

Today SumDU is a leading Ukrainian higher education institution in the number of Tanzanian students, that’s why the university’s participation in such events is extremely relevant and crucial.

During the exhibition, visitors, school graduates, and parents were consulted regarding the opportunities of obtaining an education at SumDU in different majors. The meetings with SumDU graduates of different years and majors were especially pleasant, they shared their warm memories about the years of studying and their career success in Tanzania after graduation.

Also, a number of meetings and discussions regarding the opportunities of cooperation with Tanzanian universities took place, in particular, the signing of the agreement with Tanzania Institute of Accounting, visiting the campuses, and meetings with the management of such universities as St. Joseph University and Hubert Kairuki Memorial University. The main topics of discussions were on the academic mobility of teachers and students, participation in the conferences and research work, skills upgrading, etc. Moreover, the cooperation has been initiated with higher education institutions in India, which also attended the exhibition and are active participants in the internationalization of their universities’ education (Lovely Professional University, PDEU – Pandit Deendayal Energy University, MM (DU) – Maharishi Markandeshvar (Deemed to be University and others).

During the visit to Tanzania, one of the most important achievements was the meeting of SumDU representatives with the management of the Department of Higher Education of Tanzania and the Ministry of Education of Zanzibar. The issues of studying Tanzanian students in different majors required by the Tanzanian labor market were discussed, as well as opportunities of providing scholarships for studying by the governments of Tanzania and Zanzibar, students support while studying in Ukraine, expansion of cooperation between SumDU and Tanzanian universities.
